As an ex-smoker myself... I understand just how annoying it is to constantly be reminded about the dangers of smoking, and why you should give up. Smokers are blinkered to all that stuff, and simply switch off as soon as someone starts going on at them. If anything, they just go and light up another cigarette, out of sheer spite! Whilst this research was carried out specifically to determine whether NRT caused an increased risk of death amongst patients, the implications are worrying, and further research into their effects on healthier individuals is called for.
So what does this all mean, exactly?
